Engraved chart, printed from 2 plates on 2 sheets joined, in full original wash colour from Le Neptune Francois, Pieter Mortier, Amsterdam 1693. (PM) 59,5 x 82 cm.
Koeman M. Mor 1, map 12. Only state. Notwithstanding to the (false) address, the map was printed in Amsterdam. The map is identical with the map which Mortier had used already in his Atlas nouveau of 1692 (Pastoureau, Jaillot I D, contrefacon hollandaise, map 85). - Full impression of the plate on strong Dutch laid paper with original margins at all sides, bottom margin short. Full original wash colour. Light offsetting of areas coloured in light Green to the opposite side of the map. But no breaking through of outlines or of areas coloured in Green! – Even with the offsetting a good copy. Copies in outline colour can frequently be found. But examples in full original colour are scarce!
