Pastoureau, Fer I, map 111 (for the first state, dated 1702). The map has notes along the coast-line reflecting the discovery of the mouth of the Mississippi by La Salle and the time he spent in Texas in 1685. It extends North on the Rio Grande to Santa Fe. In the South many details are shown in Mexico and Central America and along the coast of Florida. Settlement names include Pascogoula (Pascobula), Biloxi (Biloky), Mobile (la Mobila), Bay de San Augustin etc. – Full impression of the plate with original margin. Slight age toning of paper throughout. No centrefold; the map has been kept plano. Slight imperfections in outer margin only. A good copy in attractive hand colour.
